ABOUT ELVIS WEEK: Each August, thousands of Elvis fans flood into Memphis to pay homage and to celebrate the singing legend's life and work. The week includes music, dance, sports, social and charitable events in an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie. Most fans say it feels like a huge family reunion. At Graceland, there is a candle-lit vigil on August 15, the anniversary of the singer's death in 1977.
